REV Ocean is unique, operating as a research and expedition vessel, as well as providing luxury superyacht accommodation to fee paying customers. As a charter vessel REV Ocean will provide unparalleled experiences, inclusive of luxury, adventure, exploration, and science. As a state-of-the-art science research platform, REV Ocean will support world leading scientists in exploring the ocean, enhancing understanding, and developing solutions to protect and improve ocean health. 

Overview 
The Interior Manager is crucial for the successful operation of REV Ocean. During the fit-out period (2024-2026), the Interior Manager will be essential in preparing the vessel for launch. The focus will be on refining hospitality operations, overseeing the interior fit-out, and assisting with the selection and training of the interior crew. The goal is to ensure that, upon launch, the onboard experience for guests, scientists, and crew is exceptional in every way. After the launch in mid-2026, the Interior Manager will transition to an onboard rotational position, managing the hospitality team. This role involves overseeing housekeeping, food and beverage, laundry, and spa services, all critical for providing top-tier onboard experiences. This customer-facing position requires excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. We seek someone personable, outgoing, highly organized, and capable of managing and inspiring a large and diverse team across various operational modes.

Responsibilities 
As part of the onboard management team, the Interior Manager will play a central role in ensuring the onboard experience of charter guests and scientists is to the highest standard. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Safety and compliance  
  • Management, upkeep and maintenance of the interior spaces on board REV Ocean 
  • Management of the Hospitality Team, including workflows, training requirements and schedules
  • Assisting with recruitment when required
  • Management of stocks, inventories and ordering 
  • Budget management for the Hospitality Department and input into charter accounts 
  • Guest services, communication and coordination of activities  
  • Environmental stewardship and promoting best practice

Qualifications, Experience and Pre-requisites 

Required 

  • STCW Basics, STCW PDSD, STCW Crowd and Crisis Management, Norwegian Medical Certificate or Equivalent 
  • Extensive managerial/head of department experience on superyachts, with a minimum of 5 years on 80m+ yachts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and inspire a large and diverse team
  • Highly organized and adaptable to changing modes of operation
  • Strong background in hospitality with good understanding of housekeeping, food and beverage, laundry, and spa services
  • Proficiency in budget management, inventory control, and procurement

Desirable  

  • Management experience shoreside or on cruise ships would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of USPH regulations and requirements is an advantage
  • Hospitality, hotel management, cruise ship management certification will be considered favourably
  • We value skills such as being organised, flexible, and having attention to detail. Additionally, we appreciate individuals who are approachable and effective problem solvers

Reporting 

The Interior Manager will report to the Captain. This position will work closely with the shoreside Operations Director and the Yacht Relations Manager.
