Nina Jensen


Nina Jensen is the CEO of REV Ocean. She started this position in 2018 after 15 years in WWF-Norway, CEO since 2012. Nina has a burning commitment and passion for oceans, conservation and sustainable solutions. She holds a Master’s degree in Marine Biology from the University of Fishery Science in Tromsø, and has a background in communications and marketing from Ogilvy& Mather. She is a Board member of The Business for Peace Foundation. Member of the Adjudication Committee for the Nordic Council Nature and Environment Award. Member of the Expert Committee of the Thor Heyerdahl award and the Prize Committee for the Rachel Carson Award. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Global Opportunity Report. Nina is born and raised in Oslo, she loves to dive, fish, ski, hike and loves the outdoors.

Martin Styrmoe Moen

Chief Financial Officer

Martin Styrmoe Moen is the CFO at REV Ocean.

Prior to joining REV Ocean he worked at Aker Biomarine overseeing financial matters in relation to vessel operations, new build program and other investment decisions. He has also worked as a consultant for 6 years in PricewaterhouseCoopers, primarily serving clients in the shipping and offshore sector.

Martin holds two master degrees in Economics and Finance from the Norwegian Business School. He is also certified as a state authorized public accountant by the Norwegian FSA.

Gry Ulverud

Manager for strategy and partnership

Previously, she worked for UNESCO in Eastern Africa, and was the Norwegian Representative to UNESCO in Paris from 2014 to 2016.

Gry has worked ten years as director for lifelong learning and international affairs in the Ministry of Education and Research in Oslo, Norway. She has also eight years experience from the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise in Oslo and Brussels.

After studies in political science at the University of Oslo, she completed a Master degree in political science, economics and international relations at Institut d’Etudes Polices (SciencesPo) in Paris in 1994. She has also studied strategic management at the Norwegian Business School in Oslo.

Alex Rogers

Science Director

Alex has worked as a marine ecologist for the last 25 years specialising in deep-sea and Antarctic ecology as well as coral reef ecosystems. He graduated in Marine Biology from the University of Liverpool where he also received his Ph.D. in the ecology and genetics of marine invertebrates. From there Alex won research fellowships at the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom in Plymouth and at Southampton Oceanography Centre. He went on to lead the Biodiversity Programme at British Antarctic Survey as Principal Investigator before moving onto the Institute of Zoology at London Zoo. For the last 7 years Alex as worked as Professor of Conservation Biology at the Department of Zoology, University of Oxford.

Aage Andreas Linningsvoll

Technical Project Manager

Aage has 24 years experience from fishing vessels and 7 years from Offshore Construction vessels.

He started working for a Norwegian ocean fishing fleet before he went to Alaska and American Seafoods Company in 1990. Aage been working for the same employer in different countries and projects, as Chief Engineer, Technical Advisor and Superintendent in Russia, South America, West Africa, South Antarctica, North Sea and Barents Sea.

Aage has 7 years experience from Offshore Construction Vessels related to well intervention, subsea operations, heavy lift and cable laying operations. 4 years experience in building and outfitting 3 vessels as the Chief Engineer/Technical Manager.

He is a Graduate from the Norwegian High School Academy, Technical maritime education / Engineering.

Øystein Mikelborg

Operational Director

Øystein has 17 years of experience from Arctic research at the Norwegian Polar Institute, most of the time as Director of Operations & Logistics where he was responsible for the institute’s field operations, research stations and research vessels operating both in the Arctic and the Antarctic. Øystein has also been employed by Aker Solutions as project manager, and as a manager for the Concept & Technology Department in Northern Norway.

He is a graduate of the Norwegian Naval Academy and has served in various positions including commanding officer and division commander on naval vessels.

Lawrence Hislop

Communication Manager

Lawrence is our new Communications Manager. He is from Montreal Canada and has a graduate degree in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute in Monterey, California. Throughout his career, Lawrence has worked at the interface of environmental science, policy, and communications, with a particular focus on the Polar regions, high mountain areas, and the global oceans.

Annetta Visaggi Skaug

Administrative Coordinator and PA to the CEO

Annetta is the Administrative Coordinator of REV Ocean. She has several years of experience as an administrative professional mainly from the oil & gas industry. Lastly from Baker Hughes, a GE company (formerly GE Oil & Gas) where she worked 6 years as an Executive and Administrative Assistant. Prior to this she worked 16 years in SAS as a flight attendant. She has project experience as a Conference Coordinator within the electronics industry and as a junior consultant for customer relations studies within the oil & gas industry. She is half Italian and has spent every summer in the south of Italy where her father was born. Annetta has seen the changes in the Adriatic Ocean over the years and the result of excessive littering of plastic.

Tormod Opsahl Linnerud

Technical Superintendent

Tormod has more than 20 years’ experience from different areas within the maritime industry.

Tormod has 6 years’ experience from DNVGL as a Surveyor and Senior Engineer, working with Class rule development and approval of planned and condition-based maintenance systems.

He has also worked 5 years for BW Gas, serving different positions, such as Technical Superintendent, Fleet Performance Manager and Maintenance Manager.

He is a graduate of the Norwegian Naval Academy with follow up studies within Project Management and has served different positions in the Navy and Norwegian Defense Research Establishment, including Chief Engineer on Submarine.

Eva Ramirez-Llodra

Science Coordinator

Eva is a marine ecologist that has studied deep-sea ecosystems for over 20 years. Her was focused on the understanding of biodiversity, biogeography and life cycles of fauna from a variety of ecosystems. She graduated in biology at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and received her Ph.D at the University of Southampton (UK) in reproductive patterns of deep-sea invertebrates. Eva was project manager for the ChEss project on biogeography of chemosynthetic ecosystems within the 10-year Census of Marine Life programme at the Uni. Southampton and a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences-CSIC in Barcelona. In 2014, she moved to Norway to work as senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research, where she has coordinated research related to ecology and anthropogenic impacts in deep-sea ecosystems.

Tone Nymoen

Prior to joining REV Ocean Tone worked in different roles at the Federation of Norwegian Industries, the American Chamber of Commerce and the US Embassy in Oslo. She has an extensive business network, among them large American and international corporations and brands. Previous assignments include building and maintaining client relationships, brand building, consulting, strategic planning of events and lobbying initiatives. She has also worked for the UN Association of Norway and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

Tone holds a master degree in Human Geography from the University of Oslo and has, both from her education and work experience, a strong international focus.
