Infrastructure and Support Needs
- 12-ton A-frame or crane for launch & recovery, should include the capability to lift the submersible when crewed
- Hangar or sheltered deck space with lashing points. Sufficient deck strength for
12-ton load - Space to accommodate vehicle with 1m inspection space around vehicle and a clearance of 3.15m (hatch open)
- Emergency back-up. A second submersible or Work Class ROV
- A ship with a dynamic positioning (DP) system
- Oxygen supply (ABO – Aviation Breathing Oxygen or medical oxygen)
- Air compressor (breathable air quality)
- HiPAP or similar USBL underwater tracking system – hull mounted or “portable”
- Underwater Telephone (UWT) – hull mounted or portable
- Zodiac workboats
- Submersible operations permitting and seabed information (e.g. Multibeam or high-quality existing data)
